Nature has always been an inspiration for me as long as I can recall. My father’s gardens were a major influence in my pursuing degrees in Science and Art. In my recent series “Aspen” I was fortunate to acquire chestnut wood panels from a demolition project. The idea of using repurposed material struck a positive chord within me. By incorporating the natural knots and faults of the wood my paintings create a world where one can feel the solitude one encounters walking through a grove of aspen in late fall. Quiet – except for the rustling of the leaves lingering on the branches.
